[prettytgirls] Being TG and why

Diana, All,

Ok, let me start by saying I am not saying anybody is unhappy with who they are. This is simply a response to the idea of finding a cause for being transgendered.

There is definitely a part of me that would like to have the answer to that question. I think perhaps many of us do.

Having said that, despite the obvious social issues of being transgendered, I think a better question we should ask ourselves is "why do we even care?"

I say that for a couple of reasons.

Hypothetically speaking (not suggesting anything real here or to create a debate on why we are TG), if a reason for TG were discovered and a "cure" created, would you want it?

I have no doubt there are a few girls who would consider it. My personal thoughts are that if one finds themselves to be in the category of saying yes, then perhaps those girls should, in the real world, reevaluate their situation.

There are a variety of possible reasons we are TG, to date only a handful are plausible, but not confirmed. Chloe had perhaps one of the most compelling possibilities, but even there, some would argue she was "treatable".

I have come to no longer care why I am Transgendered. Primarily, because there are IMHO, only two reasons to care.

1. Seeking a "legitimate" reason to justify who you are to society.

2. Seeking a "cure" to a "disease", which also could justify who you are to society.

Both of these reasons IMHO, while perhaps legitimate to some, are fundamentally based in the hope of finding an easy path to gain acceptance. The irony is that some in society are so set in what they believe to be a black and white world, they still would not care. Transgendered people would still not be "normal people".

So no, I do not care anymore about the why.

Being transgendered has done anything but make my life easy. Do I wish I was not, hell no. Some might say my comfort in who I am is my own way of dealing with it. Sure, why not, I'm dealing with something I cannot, and now, do not wish to change.

So rejoice in who you are.

The only pain we collective suffer is that put on all of us by ignorant, frightened, people in "society" who don't like having their version of life rocked.

If anything, the required compassion and understanding that seems to go hand in hand with being transgendered, is something the world at large could do with a lot more of.

I love being me. I can only hope that the rest of my transgendered sister do, or will eventually come to feel the same way about themselves, and I don't need an explanation about what made me this way to feel that.

Kisses
Robin

I do agree, we may ever know the exact cause. This is jsut my opinion and I am not one that can say one way or another as to whether having a extra x chromosone effects the brain or not but I think it kind of takes the integrity of away of being transgender if we are not exact as to what causes transgenderism and by just saying there is no harm done by using that definition when feel it isn't the real does not help our efforts. Even though we are born this way. Wouldn't you agree?

Robin ,

An excellent post and you bring up some great questions.

I have no need to be fixed or Curerd because I have no disease just a birth defect that a simple surgery would fix.

Thru the years they have tried reparative therapy trying to align the mind with the body with destructive results. Ignoring the condition again does not work. Ad its always been known that's its not if you break but when .

I think Chloe's case she is transgendered with the extra chromosome as Well. It in no way makes her any less or more special then any of Our trans brothers or sisters .

Re your if the could give you A pill or treatment to cure yourself would you and you jump at the chance. You should take time to re evaluate your situation and make sure you are happy. It why I am glad we have the rlt.
