Transexuals, transvestites, cross dressers將受未來新法案保護

Transexuals, transvestites, cross dressers protected by new bill
09 February 2005

A member's bill which seeks to amend the Human Rights Act to stop discrimination against transsexuals, transvestites and cross dressers has been introduced to Parliament by transsexual MP Georgina Beyer.
The Human Rights (Gender Identity) Amendment Bill would prohibit discrimination on the grounds of gender identity in the Act which also bans people from discriminating on other basis such as race or sex.
The draft bill says that while most people identified with the gender with which they were born, some did not.
"People whose identification with a gender different from that with which they are born, often known as transgendered people, are subjected to discrimination in employment, housing and in some matters covered by the law."

真是好消息, 希望台灣也能進步到這樣的程度
